Congratulations: The undergraduate student in Advanced Class, Bo Wang’s paper “Shape Classification Using Tree-Unions” has been accepted to the ICPR’2010 (20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition). Bo will be a Ph.D student in the Department of Computer Science at University of Toronto from this summer.
Prof. Wenyu Liu visited the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the School of Computer Science at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Prof. Liu gave an academic talk on “Shape description and its applications in object detection and coding”. This talk was sponsored by IEEE Signal Processing Singapore Chapter. During the stay in Singapore, Prof. Liu also visited Institute for Infocomm Research and Embedded Video Lab at National University of Singapore. Dr. Xiang Bai also joined Prof. Liu’s visit in Singapore.
Dr. Xiang Bai was invited to visit Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Research Center at Xi’an Jiangtong University. Dr. Bai gave an academic talk on “Learning based Shaped Detection and Recognition” and visited all the research labs at Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Research Center.
